IOM Kenya organized a two-day training workshop for its Operations Department staff members to brief them on emerging migration issues.
The workshop took place from 26-27 September 2012. Four officials from the Ministry of Immigration served as trainers for the 31 staff members from IOM, covering topics such as the latest immigration laws, exit permit processes and procedures, document examination, and passenger profiling and imposter detection procedures.
IOM Operations Department is responsible for arranging logistics related to the third-country resettlement of refugees, family reunification programs, and support to migrants and students.
IOM Staff from Operations, Data Entry, Airport, and the Transit Centre attended the training, which was organized as a result of several incidences of fraud that have been reported over the last several months.
