Freelance Video Editor

Job Description

The Freelance Video Editor will work under the direct supervision of the programme’s Regional Communications Officer, with overall supervision provided by the Senior Regional Programme Coordinator. The contract will run for 3 months with the possibility of extension. Payment will be at a fixed rate of KSH18,000 for each edited video that has been verified and approved by the Senior Regional Programme Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

In liaison with staff on the EU-IOM Joint Initiative, the Freelance Video Editor will be required to edit videos produced by IOM country teams in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan – in the context of the EU-IOM Joint Initiative.

Key Outputs:
1. Edit and package 2-4 short videos per month in the required formats
2. Each video will need to be about 60 to 120 seconds
3. Improve and edit artworks, photos, animations, charts, maps and other graphic elements
4. Translation will not be included, but sub-titles will be needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Professional qualification and/or relevant work experience in related areas such as filming and editing, script writing, 3D motion/multimedia design, animation and illustration

2. At least three (3) years of proven experience working as a Video Editor
3. Ability to create/develop interactive content for digital/print platforms
4. Excellent working knowledge of video editing software such as the Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut Pro
5. Knowledge of other design and creative software (such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom) is an advantage
6. Comfortable in creating, articulating and applying creative strategies and ideas
7. Knowledgeable in the application of and compliance with organizational brand guidelines
